This routing necessitates an overnight stay in Venice on the outward journey as the flights arrive after the ferry has departed for that day. Check out the link at the bottom of this page for hotel information. Try and book one on Venice Island as there is a courtesy bus which runs between Piazzale Roma on Venice Island and the ferry terminal. Also remember that the ferry from Venice to Corfu only travels on Monday, Tuesday and Saturday in the winter season and everyday except Wednesday in the summer season. Ryanair Schedule
All flight timings are local to departure/destination airports. This timetable was correct at the time of production. Please check the latest timings at www.ryanair.com before making any arrangements. The fares for this trip can vary depending on time of travel and notice of booking. Please refer to www.ryanair.com for the current prices.
Now you need to get from Treviso Airport to VeniceThe Ryanair timetable shows flights to Venice (Treviso) from London Stansted Airport. In reality, Treviso's San Giuseppe Airport - the airport used by Ryanair's Venice flights - is 19 miles or 30 km from Venezia. If you're headed for Venice from Treviso, the easiest - and cheapest - way to get there is to take the connecting ATVO Eurobus service. Bus times coincide with Ryanair arrivals and departures, and the fare is much cheaper than a taxi: only 5.00 one-way or 9.00 return including baggage. (You can buy the tickets at the change office at the airport on the way out) You'll need to allow 1 hour 10 minutes for the bus trip, including a five-minute stop in Venice - Mestre, the mainland railroad station for train connections to cities throughout Italy. After pausing in Mestre, the bus crosses the causeway to Venice (an experience in itself), which is several kilometres offshore in the Venice Lagoon. The end of the line is the Piazzale Roma, which is a short walk from the ferry terminal or you can walk or catch a vaporetto (water bus) to your hotel. The timetable for this service is below. (Summer timetable to follow as soon as available)
Ferry CompaniesNow you need to decide on which ferry you would like. www.ferries.gr is an excellent site which has ALL the ferry companies listed. You can see the different types of ships and the facilities they have. They are like mini cruise ships and prices will range from the lowest (sleeping on the floor inside or the deck outside) to medium (sleeping on a pre-booked aircraft seat) or more expensive (cabin). You can book several different grades of cabins according to your preference (and pocket!). It is worth noting that in Low Season if you are prepared to take the risk and wait until you are actually on the ferry to book a cabin then you will get one much cheaper than if you pre-book. When I book my ferries I always use www.ferries.gr . They are excellent, have often found me a cabin at short notice (when other companies have said there are none!), and its so easy. You can pay by credit/debit card. They will email you an electronic booking number. You then present this number to the ticket office in Venice and the tickets are issued. If you are more comfortable with using an English booking agent then Viamare Travel Ltd www.viamare.com are agents for all Greek Ferries. I have listed below the timetables for the ferry company that does the Venice Corfu Venice route. Please note, these timetables have been reduced to show ONLY the ferries that travel to and from Corfu. They have other departures from Venice to Mainland Greece but these may not stop at Corfu. Two ferry companies currently operate from Venice to Corfu/Igoumenitsa to Venice. These are Minoan Lines and Anek Lines. I have summarised the timetable connections below. WINTER SCHEDULE 2005/2006
